Events Director

The Events Director is an appointed position on the ACYA National Executive responsible for leading project teams to the successful delivery of key tentpole initiatives. These key tentpole initiatives include the Australia-China Emerging Leaders Summit (ACELS), Call for Artists, Shanghai's Game On!, and others.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure projects proceed to on-time and on-budget delivery;

  • Recruit, lead, and train the project team's content, delegates, and logistics managers for each initiative;

  • Collaborate with the Communications Director, Partnerships Director, and National Treasurer on promotion, partnerships, and budget;

  • Engage with distinguished guests, speakers and/or sponsors;

  • Maintain oversight of all Summit operational activities upon commencement; and

  • Oversee final acquittal.

Requirements:

  • Time commitment of ~10-15 hours/week, increasing as the project dates approach;

  • Prior experience in event management and delivery;

  • Ability to work well managing small teams and long-term projects;

  • Experience managing stakeholder relations and partnerships;

  • Understanding of the ACYA brand; and

  • (Optional but preferred) Experience managing across cultures, particularly with respect to the Australia-China relationship.
