Communications Director

The Communications Director is an appointed position on the ACYA National Executive and is the leader of ACYA's Communications (Comms) Team. The Communications Director is responsible for overall social media presence, graphics development, copywriting, and publications in both English and Chinese.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain ACYA's overall communications strategy to promote initiatives;

  • Recruit, lead, and develop ACYA's Media, Publications, and Translations Managers;

  • Attend monthly meetings with the National President to discuss workload;

  • Organise Comms team meetings to ensure development and submission of media content is on time;

  • Final approval of media posts; and

  • Represent ACYA in public forums, when required.

Requirements

  • Time commitment of ~10 hours/week;

  • Ability to work well managing small teams and long-term projects;

  • Demonstrated understanding of social media engagement and how to foster online communities;

  • Demonstrated experience in marketing; and

  • (Optional but preferred) Experience managing across cultures, particularly with respect to the Australia-China relationship
