The first ACYA Art Competition coming in November 2025!
ACYA is excited to announce an open call for artists to participate in our first art competition, taking place online from late November 2025 to early February 2026.

Theme
We are seeking innovative, diverse, and thought-provoking art pieces that respond to the theme ‘Bridge’. Whether literal, metaphorical or symbolic - let your imagination run wild!

Medium
Artists working across all mediums on two-dimensional platforms - including oil/acrylic painting, sketching, photography, digital painting, and mixed-media painting - are welcome to apply.

Submission opens: 24 November 2025
Submission closes: 15 Feburary 2026

Selection Criteria
Anyone residing in Australia or China, aged 18 -35, professional or amateur, is invited to enter the ACYA Art Competition.
Creativity and Originality
Does the artwork demonstrate original thinking?
Is the concept or execution unique or thought-provoking?
Does it avoid clichés or overused imagery?
Artistic Technique and Skill
How well has the medium been used?
Is there evidence of craftsmanship and technical ability?
Are proportions, color, texture, and composition used effectively?
Relevance to Theme
Does the work clearly respond to the competition’s theme?
Is the interpretation of the theme fresh or meaningful?
Does the theme come through in both concept and execution?

Process for Selection
The judges will select the finalists. All finalists will be included in the exhibition and prize judging. The Judge’s decision is final, and no correspondence or dispute will be entered into by the Judges.
All entries for the art competition will be assessed based on the application submitted and the accompanying images or audio/video files. Selection will be based on the selection criteria listed. The nature of the work must be contemporary in application and show coherence between work and concept.

Prizes
First-place prize: $500
Second-place prize: $400
Third-place prize: $300
Fourth-place prize: $200
Note: All prizes value are in AUD
4 finalists and shortlisted artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their artworks in the Gala Dinner co-hosted by next ACELS 19 in Brisbane at mid 2026.
All finalists will be granted free entry to ACELS 19, including 3 nights’ stay and meals.
Shortlisted artists will receive token of appreciation.
Artworks of the finalists and shortlisted artists will be exposed and promoted by ACYA social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, WeChat, and Xiaohongshu.
The 4 finalists will have the opportunity to be interviewed as our ‘ACYA Emerging Artists’, with the interviews being published on the above-mentioned platforms.
