Board Treasurer

The Board Secretary is an elected position on the ACYA Executive Board. The Treasurer is primarily responsible for ensuring ethical and sustainable financial stewardship of ACYA.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lodge ACYA's tax statements;

  • Track transactions through Xero's cloud-based computing system and provide a record for grant acquittals;

  • Present the Treasurer's Report at the Annual General Meeting;

  • Ensure ACYA meets the requirements for charitable status;

  • Spearhead development of ACYA's operational budget;

  • Support ACYA's Chapter Treasurers if needed; and

  • Represent ACYA in public forums, as required.

Requirements

  • Time commitment of ~5 hours/week; and

  • Demonstrated experience managing organisational tax and accounts

  • (Optional but preferred) Demonstrated event management experience; and

  • (Optional but preferred) Experience managing across cultures, particularly with respect to the Australia-China relationship
