Managing Director Australia
The Managing Director Australia is an elected position on the ACYA Executive Board. The Managing Director Australia is responsible for strategic alignment and effective coordination of ACYA's Australia Chapters.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversee Australia Chapter operations in line with organisational strategies and policies including welfare;
Represent the ACYA National Executive to Chapter Presidents, as well as representing chapter concerns to the National President;
Recruit, lead, and develop a team of Australia Secretaries to support the portfolio;
Develop the capabilities and resources of Australian chapters by providing operational feedback and partnership development support;
Support the delivery of Australia-based ACYA Tentpole events and projects such as ACELS and ANCC;
Assist Chapters in handover processes;
Oversee chapter grant acquittals; and
Represent ACYA in public forums, when required.
Role Requirements
Time commitment of ~5-10 hours/week;
Approachable and able to provide constructive feedback;
Experience on the leadership committee of an ACYA Chapter;
Experience managing stakeholder relations and partnerships;
Ability to work well managing small teams;
Demonstrated event management experience; and
(Optional but preferred) Experience managing across cultures, particularly with respect to the Australia-China relationship
