Board President
The Board President is the elected chair of the ACYA Executive Committee. The President oversees ACYA's national-level Directors and Managers, providing strategic guidance and input to committee activities.
The objective of the President's role is to drive sustainable, valuable growth of organisational activities that serve our members and the internal development of its capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop the annual ACYA strategy to align initiatives and activities with the interests of our members;
Work with the Managing Directors Australia and China to ensure the smooth performance of ACYA's chapter operations;
Work with the Events Director to ensure timely delivery of core initiatives;
Work with the Communications Director to ensure an appropriate marketing strategy;
Work with the Board Secretary to ensure ethical organisational governance and bylaw compliance;
Work with the Board Treasurer to ensure ACYA's financial sustainability;
Work with the Partnerships Director to ensure appropriate partnerships;
Present the President's report at Annual General Meeting; and
Represent ACYA in public forums, when required.
Role Requirements
Time commitment of ~10 hours/week;
Administrative experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace;
Deep understanding of ACYA's various portfolios, chapter operations, membership network and partnerships;
Experience managing stakeholder relations and partnerships;
Demonstrated event management experience; and
Experience managing across cultures, particularly with respect to the Australia-China relationship
