Take a look at our past initiatives at the ACYA Women's Network!

Educating Girls of Rural China & ACYA MyLead Program

Recognising a need to engage with differing aspects of China, ACYA partnered with Educating Girls of Rural China (EGRC) in forging a joint initiative. This program focused on fostering ongoing development in rural China and empowering young women from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds. Support mentoring, an online cultural and language sharing platform, and community engagement were key aspects of this retreat, run from 2017-2019.

ACYAWN & Hi Career Professional Development Webinar

In a webinar focused on critically engaging with crafting positive professional development, ACYAWN collaborated with global career platform Hi Career in hosting a successful panel discussion. This event helped to expand participants’ understandings of career development, encouraging them to be open to new directions and opportunities.

The Three C’s in Life: Choice, Chance, and Conservations Webinar

ACYAWN’s “Three C’s” webinar was a compelling discussion featuring Dr. Som-Ling Leung as guest speaker, in which she shared her professional journey and personal reflections with ACYAWN members. From private practice dentistry to designing health and development programmes in the Solomon Islands, Dr. Leung’s story highlighted the flexibility gained from having a strong foundational skillset, as well as the immense rewards that could be reaped from pursuing your own interests.

ACYAWN x ACELS- Gender Equality Workshop

The workshop hosted by ACYA Women's Network leaders facilitated group discussions on feminism, allyship, and encouraging mutual understanding across diverse cultural contexts. Delegates discussed topics such as the theoretical background of feminism and how the pandemic shifted gender roles in the workplace and home.

ACYAWN x CWES Women and Financial Independence

The workshop promoted importance of financial literacy and economic independence. Rebecca Glenn from the Centre of Women’s Economic led the session, where women discussed differences in money management between Australian and Chinese women, offering a platform for participants to share personal experiences.

Offline catch-ups and mentorship
