The Australia-China Emerging Leaders Summit (ACELS) is a signature initiative of the Australia-China Youth Association (ACYA), designed to up-skill and engage young leaders in the Australia-China bilateral relationship. ACELS Australia, held in Sydney in mid-2015, in partnership with the China Studies Centre at the University of Sydney, was the third iteration of ACYA’s National Conference in Australia. February 2016 saw ACYA host its first Summit in China, utilising a stunning venue established by an Australian female entrepreneur in Shanghai.
The Australia-China Emerging Leaders Summit, in both Australia and China, delivers an intensive program focused on fostering professional development, providing networking and up-skilling opportunities, and identifying and addressing organisational challenges. In this way, ACELS equips summit delegates with the tools needed for success in a world where the Asia-Pacific’s importance on the world stage is undeniable. ACYA also believes by fostering strong relationships between delegates, we ensure that Australia’s future in the Asia-Pacific is invested in a generation that understands the culturally unique region in which it is situated.
ACELS Beijing 2017 will be hosted by ACYA in association with Model APEC from the 17th to the 19th of February 2017. Applications are now closed; however, we are still accepting submissions from delegates and general ACYA members to the ACELS – Foreign Policy White Paper Submissions, which will be presented at the conference.
