The objective of the Operations Manager is to oversee effective management of ACYA's Portfolios and associated operations, in line with organisational strategies and policies.

ACYA - Operations Manager

The Operations Manager is an Elected Position on the ACYA National Executive. The role is primarily responsible for strategy execution and management oversight of ACYA's Operations portfolio. ACYA Operations has 4 National Portfolios, led by Portfolio Directors and teams of officers:

  • Translations
  • Publications
  • Media
  • IT

Objective

The objective of the Operations Manager is to oversee effective management of ACYA's Portfolios and associated operations, in line with organisational strategies and policies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee Portfolio operations in line with organisational strategies and policies
  • Chair monthly Portfolio Director meetings, and feed information back to the National Executive
  • Develop the capabilities, skill sets, and resources of ACYA's Portfolios
  • Develop existing and new Portfolio-driven institutional partnerships for ACYA
  • Act as the primary communication point between Portfolios and the rest of ACYA

Other Responsibilities

  • Represent ACYA in public forums, when required
  • Participate in ACYA strategy development as a member of the National Executive

Requirements

  • Time commitment of ~10 hours/week
  • Demonstrated business and project management ability (team-based, or team leadership experiences preferred)
  • (Optional but preferred) Experience managing across cultures, particularly with respect to the Australia-China relationship
