The National Foundation for Australia-China Relations is an Australian Government initiative. They are a national platform to promote and coordinate enhanced cooperation between Australia and China in support of Australia’s national interests. They do this by strengthening risk-informed engagement with China in Australia’s national interest, and reinforcing social cohesion by engaging Chinese-Australians, showcasing their contribution and strengthening their voice and agency. The China–Australia Chamber of Commerce (AustCham China) was established in 1996. As the peak industry body representing Australian businesses in China, their mission is to advance the Australia–China commercial relationship and support the success of their more than 200 member organisations. Founded in 1994, AustCham Shanghai is the largest Australian Chamber of Commerce in Greater China. As the trading relationship has evolved beyond energy and resources to encapsulate a wide variety of sectors, AustCham Shanghai has grown to represent businesses in every sector, from manufacturing, food and beverage, health and aged care, to education, and financial services.
