Peter Wang
ACYA Monash President
Peter is the President of Australian Chinese Youth Association at Monash University. He began his ACYA journey in 2025 as Vice President of Education before stepping into the role of President following the 2025 Ordinary General Meeting.
Currently studying the Doctor of Medicine at Monash University, Peter is passionate about building communities that are inclusive, innovative, and people focused. During his leadership, he has successfully adapted ACYA Monash to the rapidly changing social media landscape, significantly improving member engagement, strengthening Chinese language communication with students, and ensuring continuous delivery of exceptional events.
Under his leadership, ACYA Monash has experienced substantial organisational and financial growth, becoming one of the largest student clubs at Monash University while recording one of the strongest periods of membership growth in the club's history. He has also led and supported a large committee, fostering a collaborative, respectful, and high performing culture that empowers committee members to thrive.
Born in Hefei, China, and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Peter values the perspectives of both cultures and is passionate about strengthening connections between local and international students. He believes that meaningful relationships, cultural understanding, and service to others are the foundation of a strong community. Through volunteering and student leadership, he hopes to continue breaking down barriers, fostering Australia China engagement, and ensuring ACYA remains a welcoming place where every member feels connected, supported, and inspired.
Above all, Peter believes leadership is about serving others. His vision for ACYA is simple: to put people first, create opportunities that leave a lasting impact, and build a community where everyone can find a sense of belonging.
