The ACYA Alumni Speaker Series in Sydney was held at Macquarie University and featured a panel of experts with highly diverse experiences within the Australia-China space, bringing with them unique stories about how global mobility has shaped their international careers.
Discussion topics ranged from each panellist’s own take on the concept and importance of global mobility to a career in the Australia-China space, to the particular challenges they each faced within their own industries working in China and with Chinese counterparts, including negotiating across different business cultures and the paramount value of bilingualism in pursuing a career in the Australia-China space.
The discussion ended with a range of interesting audience questions to our panellists; in particular, our two ACYA Alumni panellists, Honor and Jette, shared their reflections with existing ACYA members on how their involvement with ACYA during university provided them with valuable networking, social and educational opportunities that have enabled them to achieve career successes in the Australia-China space so far.
